Best places to use coupons...

The three best places I have found to use coupons are Walgreens, Kroger and Piggly Wiggly. Kroger doubles coupon $0.60 and under every day. “The Pig” double coupons $0.50 and under every day.

“Couponing” at Wal-greens (and CVS,coming soon to our area) is unique. There’s almost a science to it. My friend, Penny, over on Tupelo Deals is an experienced Wal-greens “couponer.” Visit Tupelo Deals for a tutorial! She also posts the best deals from the weekly ads.

The best way I have found to use coupons at Wal-greens and Kroger is by using their on-line weekly ad. I start by checking Penny's list of deals. I then go to the weekly ads. I make my list electronically and print it. I take this list and match my coupons to as many sale items as possible. I put any coupons in a page at the front of my coupon binder. I make a note on my printed list of which items I also have a manufacturer’s coupon for. I carry this list and my binder to the stores. It takes me about 15 minutes to browse the ad and generate the shopping list for each store. It then takes about 10 minutes to match and organize the coupons. The time is more than returned by how quickly I can shop once I'm in the store and by the money I save.

Piggly Wiggly
- You have to pick up sales flyers in the store. Always take your coupon binder. They always have more specials than are on the flyer.
